Disney has recently announced that they will be ending the Welcome Show. If you’ve ever decided to take the plunge and wake up early to ‘rope drop’ then you’ve probably teared up (like I have..) at the sight of the train coming in with Mickey waving to you.
Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Editorial Content Manager for the Disney Parks Blog said, “Beginning January 9, guests will be allowed to enter the Main Street, U.S.A. area of the park even earlier than the park’s scheduled opening time. This will allow guests time to savor the charm of Main Street, U.S.A., enjoy breakfast or a warm drink at the Main Street Bakery featuring Starbucks. Then promptly at opening, a new welcome show will officially open the park for the day on the Castle Forecourt Stage. A Royal Herald will appear to deliver a proclamation and welcome a few familiar characters to the stage, officially opening the park so ‘the magic can begin!’”
While we are sad to see the old Welcome Show ending, we’re excited to see a new show and to be able to walk into the parks and grab a bite to eat (Or stress that we aren’t going to get on the Mine Train before the mass of people..) a little bit earlier than before.
Let us know what you think about these changes!
